Ronseal One Coat Damp Seal can be brushed directly onto damp patches and will permanently block and seal damp stains to protect your paintwork.

Before using this product, make sure that the cause of the damp has been remedied as just painting over it will not address the basic problem.  Ventilate the area well and use dust sheets to protect against drips or spillage.  Remove wallpaper with a scraper or if the wall is painted, sand off any loose or flaking paint.  If mould is present, treat it with a mould killer.  If not clean the wall by wiping down White Spirit.  This product can be applied to a damp surface but not one that's dripping wet.

Stir the paint thoroughly and apply to the affected area by roller or brush.  There is no need to use a primer or undercoat first.  If the damp area is small, paint at least 30cm around the area to prevent the damp stain from spreading.  The seal will be touch dry after 2 hours and can be painted over or wallpapered after only 4 hours.

*  Please note that this is not a final finish, so will need to be covered with paint or wallpaper.
